“Why not seize the pleasure at once, how often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparations.” ~Jane Austen
I think you should that I DVR the Bachelor. Despite previous protests and questions on the monochromatic series. I also DVR Jersey Shore. In fact it’s playing as I type and I cannot help but be whisked away into the Sammi-Ronnie downward spiral of doom and eventual weave tearing. Nothing like the remnants of a girl fight come morning.
I also know that things ’round these parts have been a little less than what they had been. Of course there is ample reason for this both personal and professional. I’ll tell you about the big ol’ issue at a later date but for now I’m just happy that you’re here. Perhaps I just have a case of the warm fuzzies but I like to think of you people as the type I’d take out to the bar at Hotel Dupont for hot toddies and deep red wine by the fire. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
So while we’re here, did you know that today is DeLurking Day 2011? And do you know what that means? It means come on out. Tell me your guilty pleasures and that you, too, feel invested in Sammi and Ronnie’s relationship and think that the Situation might have a douchebag problem. What are your guilty pleasures? Lay ‘em out, my friends.

I read you – don’t think I’ve ever commented though. (This for delurking day
). I don’t watch any of the shows you mentioned but I do hear about them in the media
. One of my guilty pleasures are reading the smuttiest love stories to be found. I think if someone took my Kindle and started scrolling they would be in for a surprise…
long time reader here, first time commentor. I have an unnatural obsession with all things RHONY. Also RHODC. The drama llama in full force at all times, that’s how I roll.
My guilty pleasure is reality tv. I don’t watch Jersey Shore, but I’m addicted to (sadly) 16 and Pregnant, Teen Mom, and of course The Real Housewives (specifically New York, New Jersey, DC, and Beverly Hills).
My guilty pleasure is the entire “Real Housewives” franchise, especially NY and Atlanta. I love those shows!
There is nothing better than when the extensions start flying.
Of course I watch Jersey Shore, how can you not? Fascinating stuff. I also buy all the gossip rag mags whenever I go to the grocery store. People, Us, Star…bring it baby.
RHOA baby. And Bev Hills. And the Bachelor. But not this time. It’s even to much for me to stand this time
TMZ.com, but if you tell anyone I’ll deny it.
Ok Heather, for you I will de-lurk. My guilty pleasure doesn’t involve TV. I don’t feel guilty about anything I watch, even if it is rotting my brain!
My guilty pleasure is on-line shopping. My husband would go crazy if he knew how much I buy on-line. Not because I buy things we don’t need, but because as the son of a police officer, he is super paranoid about EVERYTHING, and the thought of putting my credit card info anywhere on the internet would blow his mind.
But, it’s hard to find wide calf, knee-high, black leather boots in Canada! Zappos has lots!
Delurking!
Guilty pleasures – pedicures, massages, Top Chef, romance novels, and design blogs. I could lose hours.
The CW’s nearly entire line-up but especially Gossip Girl. Also Greek, on ABC Family.
Delurking to confess my guilty pleasure: Trash Magazines. Heaven help the foolish man who misplaces US Weekly or STAR when it arrives. I am not ashamed…well, maybe a little.
I’m loving the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills way too much!
HOT TODDIES!!!!??!!
Oh man, House Hunters International takes up way too much of my moral outrage and shoe throwing.
I shall cease lurking now.
90s television. Always 90s television. Bonus points if there are vampires or witches involved (Charmed, Buffy, et alia). Also, Say Yes to the Dress. I feel filthy just admitting it. I shall now go cleanse my palate with Proust (if by Proust we mean Hoarders). Shameful.
Well, I have two pretty serious guilty pleasures. Arbor Mist Sangria… and Britney Spears. They go very well together.
Gosh. I’m pretty sure this is my first time commenting here. Today, anyway.
i guess i’m redelurking? i’ve delurked before, but am doing it again as i’m back in the blog-reading business. as far as guilty pleasures, one of my 2011 resolutions is to begin a guilty pleasure of regular facials. Really ridiculously expensive facials.
First time commenting. My guilty pleasure would have to be the occasional marathon of reality TV, but bad reality TV. Think Flavor of Love…
Delurking – Housewives series…all of them. I am so ashamed of this, but I can’t help myself. Oh, and I grew up in Mechanicville, NY (a little town not too far from Saratoga). And I went to Suny-Albany for college, so I get a kick out of hearing you mention Albany. I’m a long way from there now. Hated the cold weather, chickened out somewhere during my 35th year and left for Florida.
Not really a lurker, just hanging in there with you!
I am a little late for de-lurking day, but better late than never, right?!
I love Gilmore Girl’s and Dawson’s Creek. The 13 year-old who lives inside me squeals at the very mention of those shows.
And, Meaghan? I am SOOOOOOOOOO with you on the Britney Spears love. Ever since she shaved her head, I can’ t get enough.
Hey,
Missed the day but wanted you to know I’m reading.
