Birthday Choice

Popping in to ask your opinion on something: My golden birthday is fast approaching. I usually bake for the wonderful day but I’m not sure what to bake this year. I have a reputation to keep up in the office. Last year I brought mimosas and my boss called it ‘inspired’. Then there was the time I made lemon cupcakes with raspberry filling and you would have thought I brought Jesus. So the choices for this year: red velvet ice cream cupcakes (red velvet cake is my specialty) OR key lime pie? Thoughts?

You are Red Velvet, not Key Lime Pie. Though what is up with this ice cream business?

Grr, I hate to be the last one to the party spouting the same party line. But Red Velvet seems to be the clear answer. No one really cares for Key Lime Pie, especially when pitted against chocolate.

I would have to say red velvet–it sounds much more dramatic, but key lime pie with chocolate crust is off the chain.

When the choices include red velvet, always choose that.

Dude, if it’s your *specialty*? Then for such a special birthday, the answer is clear.

    Red Velvet.

And bring some to Atlanta. ;)

as much as I love key lime pie (and I really do) – the red velvet is your answer. it makes a statement. key lime pie just leaves you puckered.

This is not one of the two choices, but once I brought Irish car bomb cupcakes to work and have been a minor office celebrity ever since. I mean, come on: chocolate, stout, whiskey, AND Irish cream? It is your birthday, after all!

I’m going to say Key Lime pie because someone needs to shake up these comments. I am not a follower!

Red velvet is overrated. Irish car bomb cake suggested above seems a much better choice. Or key lime. Or Irish whiskey. Or Baileys. Or………….

red velvet. I need a mimosa right now. My friends and I always take them with us and make them to drink while getting pedicures. It makes for an awesome morning once a month.
