“There’s nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you.” ~Woody Hayes
How about starting this year over? Or maybe using the last two months of extraordinary heartache as a jumping off point for bettering myself and my surroundings? Or maybe I’ll just enjoy some Malbec and give The Universe the middle finger.
Tomorrow we’ll have some champagne and begin again but the year will be a little rough around the edges.

2009 has definitely been a challenge so far. I’ll join you for a cocktail tonight!
I CONCUR. 2009 has so far been filled with so much illness and misery that if March doesn’t turn things around, I am going ahead and calling it 2010 already.
I hear you on that. This is like the ass-kicking that 2008 was for me. I am sending positive vibes your way and I’m sure things will turn around for you.
i’m having some champagne right now. my edges have been kicked all ready. i’m ready for some love from the universe!
Tomorrow it is.
You and me both.
That is one fabulous quote. For me it sums up the last six months of 2008. Gratefully 09 has been rocking my world, but it took almost of year of crawling on the ground while continuously being run over at the same time. Ugh, that was shitty. But here’s to the New Year, no matter what day it starts. Cheers!
I’ve been liking 2009 so far, but it has been filled with a ton more stress than I like. So I’m willing to start over just to eliminate that!
Enjoy the champagne tomorrow! Drink another glass for me! =)
I am so with you. I thought 2007 AND 2008 had kicked my ass, but 2009 thus far has trumped all with the kicking of the ass. And the head. And the heart. Here’s to a NEW new year. Do you hear us, Universe, you bastard?!
A.MEN. But can we wait until the 30th? Because on top of everything else this year has thrown at me, I have to go to Texas next week to visit my future father in law for eight days and he is…. well, let’s just say I’ll probably be ready to climb a bell tower by the end of the first day of the trip.
Here’s to starting all over again!
Ooh, I love Malbec.
