Tiny moments

February 7, 2008 | Filed under: Fotografias, Great moments in narcissism

“I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world.  This makes it hard to plan the day.”  ~Elwyn Brooks White

For the amount that I whinge (on and on and on) about my life, you’d think I lived a terribly boring and miserable existence where all I did was spend a lot of time alone, possibly with a cat and an excessive amount of wine. Oh, wait….

Uno: Simon

Dos: Friday night

Ocho: Hotel

These are only three tiny moments of my life. Which, for the record, is a pretty kick ass one. There, I’ve said it; I like my life. I think I shall keep it for awhile.

*photos from 30 Tiny Moments; a Flickr group that the ever lovely Jessica of Kerflop started a few weeks ago. I’ve already shown that I’m a misanthrope, crazy-cat-lady, so your moments really can’t be that much worse.

    Well, until tomorrow anyway…

Actually that was me pretending to be optimistic. Today has been pretty shitty…But! In the big picture it’s not so bad.

  2. Dagny says:

That cat photo is just too cute for words. And nothing wrong with the company of a cute cat while you’re sipping on wine. Because if there is, maybe it’s time for me to start re-evaluating my life. ;-)

  3. Diane Mandy says:

Seriously, that’s the best cat photo I’ve seen. Coming from this dog person, that’s a huge compliment.

  4. Angela says:

    I LOVE that wine glass!

  5. Angella says:

Sorry today has been crappy. I’d take you out for a drink, but that will have to wait until July :)

  6. So far my moments have included my dog, my Build A Bear and champagne. But I like my life too.

  7. Loralee says:

I would be much happier if I COULD SEE ANY FLICKR PHOTOS!

    It.is.driving.me.insane.

I am sure your cat and wine glass are lovely, though.

    Sigh.

  8. KassyK says:

Awww that cat pic and wine are lovely. And I say that not just because I am online, with a glass of wine and my cat curled up on the keyboard as well. ;)

  9. I love the tiny moments photo idea. I have a new camera, I should really be using it - maybe this could be motivation?
    Your cat is adorable, BTW.

  10. Mrs. Flinger says:

I love your photos. And your writing. And I love the reminder that I love my life, too, even if I like to bitch about it. A lot.

  11. Noelle says:

I just found your blog from your indie blogger post, which I really enjoyed. And now that I see that you seem to bide your time in exactly the same way I do (cat, wine, computer) I think I’d like to read more of your blog!

  12. slynnro says:

My life is pretty boring sometimes.

Just the way I like it.

I can understand being sick of hotels if I had business travel a lot, but I wouldn’t mind a few days in one alone.

  13. Marci says:

Narcissism seems to be the feeling du jour these days.
    Whatever, I’m pretty.

  14. Lissa says:

My cat does the same thing. Annoying when I want to work on something but very cute nonetheless.

  15. kat says:

My moments are the same, especially since it’s been gray for 87 days and raining/snowing/sleeting/all three for most. I don’t have a cat, though.. but it is really cute!

  16. Diar says:

    the cat’s so cute :)

  17. Zandria says:

“Tiny moments” are what make up our lives, right? :)

  18. Bee says:

I just realized I’m super duper anal. My dog would never get that close to MacBook ever. He tries…and I have to shoo him away. Looking at your photo I just learned a million things about myself.

But to get to a point…I understand completely what you’re saying. My dog, my computer stuff…and the fiance.

  19. OMG, your cat is so handsome! I didn’t realize you were a cat lady, too :)

I’m off to investigate this Tiny Moments Flickr thing.

  20. Dee says:

Lovely photos. Now I must reflect on my tiny moments. Thanks for keeping me grounded. :)

  21. kerri anne says:

I too am liking this project very mucho. And the fact that it recently allowed me to photograph two bars of chocolate. That I fully intend on eating. By myself.

  22. Gooseberried says:

Oooo! I would very much love to see the Clinton shrine! :)

Enjoy this time while it lasts. Never happens to me anymore.

  23. Such lovely moments. The little ones can be the very coolest.
